What can I use the Silky milk frother for?

The Silky milk frother can be used to froth, heat or mix milk for several different types of drink. The product has five preset programmes designed for different uses.

Among other things, you can use Silky for:

  • Cappuccino

  • Caffè latte

  • Flat white

  • Matcha latte

  • Hot chocolate

  • Iced coffee

  • Milkshakes

  • Cold milk drinks


Which programmes does Silky have?

Silky has five preset programmes that automatically adjust the temperature and frothing for different drinks.

Available programmes

  • Hot foam – rich foam for cappuccino, latte and flat white (65°C)

  • Latte Art – fine microfoam for latte art and patterns in coffee drinks (60°C)

  • Warm stir – minimal foam, particularly suitable for plant-based alternatives (65°C)

  • Hot chocolate drink – gently heats and mixes the drink (75°C)

  • Cold foam – froths milk without heating it, for cold drinks


Can I use Silky to make matcha latte?

You can use Silky to make matcha latte.

When you make matcha latte, you should only heat or froth the milk in the jug. Matcha powder should be added after the programme has finished. This helps protect the product and makes sure you get the best possible result.

How to make a matcha latte

  1. Fill the jug with the amount of milk you want.

  2. Select the programme you want.

  3. Start the milk frother.

  4. Pour the finished milk into a cup.

  5. Add matcha powder and stir thoroughly.


Can I use Silky to make hot chocolate?

You can use Silky to heat milk for hot chocolate.

When you use Silky for hot chocolate, only the milk should be heated in the jug. Cocoa, chocolate powder or drinking chocolate powder should be added after the milk has finished heating.

How to make hot chocolate

  1. Fill the jug with milk.

  2. Select a suitable programme.

  3. Start the milk frother.

  4. Pour the heated milk into a cup.

  5. Add cocoa or chocolate powder and stir.

Important to keep in mind

Solid chocolate should never be put straight into the jug, as it can damage the product.


Can I use plant-based alternatives?

You can use plant-based drinks in Silky.

For the best results, we recommend so-called barista products, which are plant-based alternatives specially developed to give a stable and creamy foam.

Examples of plant-based alternatives:

  • Barista oat drink

  • Barista soya drink

  • Barista almond drink

The Warm stir programme is particularly suitable for plant-based alternatives.


How much milk can I use?

Silky is designed to be used with between 150 ml and 250 ml of liquid at a time.

It is important to stay within the recommended amount to get the best results and to avoid the drink frothing over or the product not working as intended.

  • Minimum amount: 150 ml

  • Maximum amount: 250 ml

Can I wash the jug in the dishwasher?

The jug can be washed in a dishwasher.

For the best cleaning results, we recommend that you remove the silicone ring from the lid and wash it by hand. That way you make sure that all parts get properly clean.

The lid and whisk are also removable for easier cleaning.


How do I clean Silky?

Regular cleaning helps keep the milk frother in good condition and gives the best possible results.

How to clean the product

  1. Unplug the product and let it cool down.

  2. Remove the jug, the lid and the whisk.

  3. Wash the parts, or rinse them in warm water with a little washing-up liquid.

  4. Dry all parts thoroughly.

  5. Reassemble the product once all parts are completely dry.

Tips for easier cleaning

It is a good idea to rinse the jug straight after use. That way you avoid milk residue drying on and becoming harder to remove.


How do I get the best possible milk foam?

To get the best possible milk foam, we recommend that you use the right amount of liquid and choose a milk that is suitable for frothing.

Tips for the best results

  • Use between 150 and 250 ml of liquid

  • Choose whole milk with at least 3 % fat for extra rich foam

  • Use barista versions of plant-based alternatives

  • Make sure the jug and base are completely dry before use

  • Never start the product without liquid in the jug


Does the product switch off automatically?

Silky has an automatic switch-off function that switches the product off when the programme has finished. This makes it both safe and convenient to use.


How long is the warranty on the product?

The product is covered by a 5-year warranty for private use. Always keep your receipt as proof of warranty. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or faults caused by incorrect use. In the event of a complaint or warranty claim, please contact your place of purchase.
