What are Format WSDK-2000B and WSDK-2000S?
Format is a kettle with adjustable temperature settings that make it possible to heat water to different temperatures depending on what it is used for.
The kettle has a capacity of 1.25 litres and is designed for daily use. The various temperature settings make it particularly suitable for coffee, tea and other drinks where the water temperature affects the result. The only difference between the two models is their appearance.
Is the plastic in the kettle BPA-free?
The plastic in the kettle is BPA-free.
BPA stands for bisphenol A, a substance previously used in certain plastics. All plastic components in Wilfa's products that come into contact with food or water are BPA-free. This also applies to the plastic parts inside the kettle.
Which materials are used in the kettle?
The Format kettle is made from several materials. Among other things, the product contains:
Stainless steel
Plastic (PP and PPO)
Silicone
All materials that come into contact with water have been tested and meet the applicable requirements for food contact.
How does the automatic shut-off work?
The automatic shut-off works by the kettle detecting when the water has come to the boil.
Once the selected boiling process is complete, the kettle switches itself off automatically.
Important to keep in mind
For the best performance, we recommend that you:
Leave the kettle on the base throughout the whole boiling cycle.
Wait until it has switched itself off.
Avoid lifting the kettle off before boiling has finished.
If the kettle is lifted off the base before the process has finished, the function may be affected.
Why doesn't the kettle seem to switch off when it is empty?
If you place the kettle back on the base when it is empty, it may seem as though it does not switch off.
The automatic shut-off is designed to respond to water being heated and boiling. Without water, the kettle cannot register a normal boil in the same way.
To avoid this, we recommend
Always fill the kettle with water before use.
Let the kettle finish boiling before you lift it off the base.
Avoid placing an empty kettle back on the base station immediately after use.
Why is it difficult to reach exactly 40 °C?
The 40 °C temperature setting works best when the kettle is used under the recommended conditions.
For the best possible accuracy, we recommend that you:
Use cold water straight from the tap.
Fill the kettle with at least 1 litre of water.
Select the desired temperature.
With smaller amounts of water, the temperature may vary somewhat more, because a smaller volume of water responds more quickly to heating.
How much temperature deviation is normal?
When used with approximately 1 litre of water, the temperature should normally not deviate by more than ±3 °C from the selected temperature.
If the temperature becomes significantly higher than the selected temperature
If you follow the recommendations above and still find that the temperature ends up higher than the value you set, we recommend that you contact your place of purchase for further assistance.
Why does it take longer to heat water to 90 °C than to 100 °C?
It is normal for temperatures such as 80 °C or 90 °C to feel as though they take longer than an ordinary boil to 100 °C.
The kettle first heats the water quickly to just below the selected temperature. During the final few degrees, the heating rate is reduced in order to reach as precise a temperature as possible.
This means the kettle reduces the risk of exceeding the temperature you have selected.
Example
At a setting of 90 °C:
The water is heated quickly to approximately 70–80 °C.
Heating then continues more slowly.
The temperature stabilises around the selected level.
This function contributes to better temperature precision.
How long can I leave water in the kettle?
We do not recommend storing water in the kettle for longer than 24 hours.
For the best taste and water quality, we recommend that you:
Empty any remaining water after use.
Fill with fresh water before the next use.
What can I use the kettle for?
The Format kettle is intended for heating and boiling water.
The product is not intended for heating liquids other than water.
How long is the product warranty?
The product is covered by a 5-year warranty for private use. Always keep your receipt as proof of warranty. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or faults caused by incorrect use. In the event of a complaint or warranty claim, please contact your place of purchase.
