WSPL-3B/CM7T-125 PERFORMANCE

For those using a Wilfa Performance coffee maker who want help with usage, flow control, cleaning and common questions.

What is the difference between the WSPL-3B and CM7T-125?

The WSPL-3B and CM7T-125 are the same coffee maker with the same features and performance. The only difference between the models is the color.

Both models have:

  • Wilfa's unique pump technology.

  • Removable water tank.

  • Adjustable flow control.

  • Optimal brewing temperature of 92–96 °C.

  • ECBC certification.

  • Automatic shut-off after 40 minutes.

The coffee maker won't start

If the coffee maker won't start, the most common cause is that the main power switch on the back is turned off.

Check the following:

  1. Check that the plug is in the wall outlet.

  2. Check that the switch on the back is in the I (on) position.

  3. Check that there is water in the tank.

  4. Start the coffee maker again.

Which setting should I choose on the filter holder?

The setting on the filter holder should match the amount of water in the water tank.

The flow control is designed to adjust the contact time between coffee and water, which helps the coffee maker deliver the same great taste whether you're brewing a small or large amount of coffee.

Example:

  • 0.25 liters of water → select 0.25 on the filter holder.

  • 0.5 liters of water → select 0.5 on the filter holder.

  • 0.75 liters of water → select 0.75 on the filter holder.

  • 1.25 liters of water → select 1.25 on the filter holder.

Using the correct setting gives the coffee the right extraction time and a more balanced flavor.

The coffee maker isn't pumping water

If the coffee maker is turned on and heating but not pumping water, this is usually due to limescale deposits in the system.

Limescale can, over time, restrict the water flow through the pump.

Try the following:

  1. Descale the coffee maker.

  2. Run a full tank of clean water through after descaling.

  3. Test the coffee maker again.

If the problem persists, the system may need additional cleaning to restore the water flow. A system coated in limescale is also a common reason why pump-driven coffee makers perform poorly.

Why does the coffee maker make more noise than I'm used to?

It is normal for the Performance coffee maker to be a bit louder than a traditional coffee maker.

Wilfa uses a unique pump technology that:

  • Empties the entire system of water after each brew.

  • Ensures the next brew is made with fresh water.

  • Quickly reaches the correct brewing temperature.

  • Delivers optimal temperature from the first to the last drop.

It is common for the pump to be heard most clearly at the beginning and end of the brewing process.

Can I use the thermal carafe from the Performance Thermo with my Performance coffee maker?

The thermal carafe from the Performance Thermo can be used as a separate serving carafe, but it cannot be used directly in the coffee maker during the actual brewing process.

This is because:

  • The thermal carafe has different dimensions than the glass carafe.

  • The Performance models have a warming plate that the thermal carafe is not designed to sit on.

If you want to use the thermal carafe, you can pour the freshly brewed coffee into it after brewing.

How often should I descale the coffee maker?

How often the coffee maker needs descaling depends on the water hardness where you live.

We recommend:

  • At least one descaling every three months.

  • More frequent descaling if you have hard water.

  • Regular cleaning to maintain the best taste and performance.

Regular descaling helps to:

  • Maintain the water flow.

  • Protect the pump.

  • Ensure the correct brewing temperature.

  • Extend the product's lifespan.

How do I keep the coffee warm longer?

The Performance coffee maker automatically switches off the warming plate after 40 minutes in accordance with applicable EU requirements.

If you want to keep the coffee warm longer, we recommend:

  • Using a separate thermos.

  • Brewing smaller amounts more often.

Can I start the coffee maker again to get the warming plate to keep heating?

It is possible to start the coffee maker again, but this is not something we recommend as a routine practice.

When the coffee maker is started:

  • The pump is activated.

  • The coffee maker expects to carry out a brewing cycle.

  • Unnecessary wear can occur if the coffee maker is started multiple times without water.

This can affect the pump's lifespan over time. To keep the coffee warm longer, we therefore recommend a separate thermos solution instead.

Why does the Performance series have a pump instead of traditional flow-through?

The pump technology is one of the most important features of the Performance series.

The advantages are that:

  • The coffee maker uses fresh water for every brew.

  • No old water residue remains in the system.

  • The water quickly reaches the optimal brewing temperature.

  • The coffee is brewed at 92–96 °C from the first to the last drop.

This contributes to more even extraction and better flavor.
