How much slush can I make?
The Frozen Drink Machine can produce up to 2 litres of finished slush.
The finished quantity depends on the recipe and which ingredients you use, but the machine is designed to handle up to 2 litres of finished product.
The slush does not get the right consistency
If the slush does not get a smooth and creamy consistency, it is usually because the mixture contains too little sugar.
For the machine to be able to create the right consistency, the mixture needs to contain:
At least 6 % sugar content
A Brix value of at least 10 %
For the best results
Use sugar syrup instead of ordinary granulated sugar.
Follow the quantities recommended in the recipe.
Check that the liquid contains enough sugar.
Ordinary granulated sugar can make the slush grainy and less smooth.
What is a Brix value?
The Brix value is a measure of how much sugar there is in a liquid.
The term is used in the food industry to measure the sugar content of, for example:
Juices
Soft drinks
Slush mixes
Fruit drinks
The higher the Brix value, the higher the sugar content of the liquid.
Does it take longer to make slush with alcohol?
Slush with alcohol normally takes longer to freeze.
Alcohol has a lower freezing point than water, which means that it counteracts the freezing of the mixture.
For faster results, we recommend
Make the slush without alcohol first.
Wait until the desired consistency has been reached.
Add the alcohol afterwards.
Stir gently.
This often gives a considerably shorter preparation time.
How do I get slush in about 15 minutes?
To get slush as quickly as possible, it is important that the ingredients are well chilled from the start.
How to do it
Pre-chill all the ingredients in the fridge.
Pour in no more than 500 ml of liquid at the start.
Start the machine.
Add more liquid gradually as needed.
A smaller starting volume means the first batch freezes more quickly.
How do I avoid overloading or overflowing?
To avoid overloading, it is important never to fill the container above the maximum mark.
Things to bear in mind
Respect the maximum level in the container.
Liquids can expand during the process.
Too large a quantity of ingredients can put unnecessary strain on the machine.
Staying within the recommended quantity contributes to better results and a longer service life for the product.
Can I add ingredients while the machine is working?
You can add ingredients while the machine is running.
This makes it easy to:
Adjust the flavour
Top up with more liquid
Try out different recipe combinations
Add the ingredients gradually for the best results.
How long can the machine run for?
The Frozen Drink Machine can run for up to 12 hours.
The long running time means the machine can be used on longer occasions, for example at parties or other events where you want to keep the slush ready to serve for a longer period.
Can I use stevia instead of sugar?
You can use stevia in the machine.
Bear in mind, however, that the sugar content affects how the slush freezes and what consistency it gets. If you use alternative sweeteners, the result may vary depending on the recipe and the ingredients.
We recommend experimenting to find the consistency you want.
The machine stops during use
If the machine stops during use, the dispenser may need cleaning.
A dispenser is the part where the finished slush is drawn off.
Check the following
Switch off the machine.
Check the dispenser.
Clean away any blockages.
Start the machine again.
Important when using fruit juice
If you use natural fruit juice, the juice should always be strained before it is poured into the machine.
Fruit pulp and fibres can clog the dispenser and affect how it works.
Why do the stirring blades scrape?
If the stirring blades scrape, there are two common causes.
Possible causes
The mixture contains too little sugar.
The stirring blades are fitted incorrectly.
Try the following
Check the sugar content of the recipe.
Check that the stirring blades are fitted correctly.
Restart the machine.
The display shows "OP"
The error message "OP" means that the container is not fitted correctly.
How to fix the problem
Remove the container.
Refit it.
Check that it locks firmly into place.
Start the machine again.
The display shows "E1" or "E2"
The error codes "E1" and "E2" indicate a problem with the machine's sensor.
The sensor is the component that monitors the machine's functions and temperature.
How to do it
Switch off the machine.
Wait a short while.
Start the machine again.
If the error code is still shown, you should contact your place of purchase for further help.
The display shows "E3"
Error code "E3" indicates a motor-related problem.
How to do it
Switch off the machine.
Disconnect the power.
Wait a while.
Start the machine again.
If the error code continues to be shown, we recommend that you contact the shop where the product was purchased.
How long is the warranty on the product?
The product is covered by a 5-year warranty for private use. Always keep your receipt as proof of warranty. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or faults caused by incorrect use. In the event of a complaint or warranty claim, please contact your place of purchase.
