PO1B-G013 / PO1B-G016

For you who use the Wilfa pizza oven PO1B-G013 or PO1B-G016 and want help with troubleshooting, gas connection, spare parts and common questions.

The burner will not light

If the burner does not light, there may be several possible causes.

Start by checking the following:

  1. Check that the gas cylinder contains gas.

  2. Check that the regulator is correctly connected to the gas cylinder.

  3. Check that the coupling nut is properly tightened.

  4. Check that the burner is correctly connected to the valve.

  5. Check that the oven is assembled in accordance with the assembly instructions.

  6. Check that there are no blockages in the gas supply or the burner tube.

Possible causes:

  • An empty gas cylinder.

  • A loose coupling nut.

  • Oxidation on the coupling pin.

  • A blockage in the burner tube.

  • The burner has come loose from the valve.

  • Incorrect assembly.

  • A faulty burner.

If the coupling pin has oxidised, it is sometimes enough to clean it carefully and then reconnect the components.

The flame is weak or the gas supply has suddenly dropped

If the flame suddenly becomes weak or the gas supply drops, the most common cause is that the gas cylinder is running low or that the regulator needs to be reset.

Follow these steps:

  1. Check that there is gas left in the propane cylinder.

  2. Switch off the gas control on the pizza oven.

  3. Wait approximately 30 seconds.

  4. Light the oven again.

If the problem persists:

  1. Switch off the oven.

  2. Close the valve on the gas cylinder.

  3. Disconnect the regulator.

  4. Reconnect the regulator.

  5. Carry out a leak test.

  6. Open the valve on the gas cylinder.

  7. Wait approximately 30 seconds.

  8. Light the oven again.

The flames blow out

If the flame blows out, it is usually due to wind or a low gas supply.

Check the following:

  • That the gas cylinder is not empty.

  • That the oven is not exposed to strong winds.

  • That the opening is facing away from the wind.

For the best performance, we recommend placing the oven somewhere with some shelter from the wind while the ventilation is still good.

There are flare-ups in the oven

If large flames or flare-ups occur in the oven, it is usually due to fat or flour that has built up in the oven.

Possible causes:

  • A build-up of fat in the oven.

  • Too much fat on the ingredients.

  • Too high a temperature.

  • Too much flour on the pizza stone or the cooking surface.

To reduce the risk of flare-ups:

  1. Clean the oven regularly.

  2. Brush excess flour off the pizza base before baking.

  3. Adjust the temperature to suit the food being cooked.

  4. Remove excess fat from the ingredients if needed.

I hear a hissing sound or see flames in the burner tube

If flames come from the burner tube, or if you hear a hissing sound, this may be what is known as flashback.

Flashback occurs when the flame burns inside the burner tube instead of at the burner opening.

Follow these steps:

  1. Switch off the gas control immediately.

  2. Allow the oven to cool completely.

  3. Check whether the burner or the burner tubes are blocked.

  4. Clean the burner and the burner tubes thoroughly.

  5. Check that the valve on the gas cylinder is fully open.

  6. Light the oven again as instructed.

If the problem recurs, the oven should not be used until it has been checked.

The pizza oven does not require a regulator from a specific brand.

The most important things are that:
