General
An electric scooter is just like a bicycle, meaning it is a vehicle. All vehicles require maintenance and service over time. Below we have summarized some general tips.
Electric scooters are built with components that are sensitive to water and moisture. Our scooters can tolerate a certain amount of moisture and are IP-certified. It is still recommended to dry the scooter after use in wet weather and not to leave the scooter outdoors in rain or damp conditions. If the product is damaged due to water, the warranty may not apply.
Do not leave the electric scooter outdoors without protecting it from rain.
Do not rinse the product with water. If the scooter needs cleaning, wipe it with a damp cloth.
An electric scooter is a product consisting of several parts and components that can be sensitive to various external factors. Read the user manual before using the scooter.
Do not use the product without functional brakes.
Make sure to lock and store the scooter in a safe place. Theft or vandalism often occurs with this type of product.
Read laws and regulations before using the product on public roads.

Range does not match the specified range
Range is strongly affected by factors such as outside temperature, surface, slope, wind, rider weight, braking, etc. Under ideal conditions (25°C, flat asphalt/concrete, no wind), the range should match the specifications of your product.
If you suspect something is wrong with your scooter, contact your retailer for assistance with warranty or service.
Brakes no longer work
Brakes wear down when used. This means you may need to tighten/adjust them. A simple adjustment can be made by tightening the steel cable running through the brake line. If this does not work, a service workshop must repair it.
Worn tires
All E-Way models have puncture-proof tires that do not need inflating. Over time they can wear out and should be replaced. New wheels can be ordered on our website.
Speed does not match the specified speed
Several factors affect speed: rider weight, load, road type, slope (uphill), etc. Many E-Way models have three speed settings. Speed can be adjusted in the Eway Scooter app or by double-clicking the button on the display.
P4 appears in the display
P4 means walking speed.
This mode allows the scooter to move at walking speed, making it easier to push the scooter alongside you.
Handles move (E-600 only)
Tighten the screws at the bottom of the handle. If you need new screws, you can order them at wilfa.se.
Gap at the handlebar when folding (E-600 only)
If the entire bar moves while riding or there is a gap at the hinge, the screws in the folding unit may need adjustment.
Device does not charge
Try charging your device with a new charger. If the problem persists, there may be an issue with the battery. Contact your retailer for assistance.
Device does not start
Try charging with a new charger. If this does not help, contact your retailer for assistance.
Device cannot be turned off
Contact your retailer for service assistance.
Throttle sticks during use
Try creating a gap between the throttle and the handle.

Laws and Regulations
If an electric scooter is faster than 20 km/h (+/- 10%), it is no longer classified as an electric scooter and cannot be used under traffic laws for bicycles.
Other requirements, such as size and seating, must also be approved for the scooter to be treated like a bicycle.
If the speed or other specifications do not comply, it is illegal to use on public roads.
How can I ride an electric scooter?
An electric scooter can be ridden like a bicycle if it meets the bicycle requirements (see above). This means it is allowed on sidewalks, pedestrian/cycle paths, and roads. In pedestrian areas, caution should be taken, and walking speed should be maintained.
How do I check speed?
The rider is always responsible for ensuring the vehicle meets legal requirements. Riding faster than 20 km/h makes the scooter illegal to use unless you have the proper vehicle permit. You can check speed on the scooter or in the connected app.
Required equipment for an electric scooter
Electric scooters must have brakes and a bell (no requirements for appearance or sound).
If riding in the dark, the scooter should have front and rear lights and be equipped with reflectors.
Riders under 15 are recommended to wear a helmet.
Helmet usage recommendation
We recommend everyone, especially children and teenagers under 15, wear a helmet, even when riding in enclosed areas.
Safety tips
Ride carefully when passing other road users. Slow down and keep distance.
Use walking speed on sidewalks or pedestrian paths.
Use walking speed on pedestrian streets.
Do not park the scooter where it obstructs people with disabilities or reduced vision.
