PO2B/PO2DB-E2200 CRUST

For anyone using the Wilfa CRUST pizza oven who wants help with use, cleaning, storage and common questions.

Can I use the pizza oven outdoors?

Wilfa CRUST is intended for indoor use.

The pizza oven is not designed for outdoor use and does not have the IP rating required to withstand weather, rain and damp outdoor environments. An IP rating is a standard that indicates how well a product is protected against dust and water. We therefore recommend that the pizza oven is only used indoors on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

What are the oven's internal dimensions?

The oven's internal dimensions are approximately:

  • Width: 37.5 cm

  • Depth: 40.4 cm

  • Height: 13.4 cm

These dimensions describe the internal space available for pizza and other cooking.

Do I need to leave space around the oven?

Yes, the pizza oven needs clear space around it for safe use.

We recommend that you leave at least:

  • 5 cm clearance to walls

  • 5 cm clearance to furniture

  • 5 cm clearance to other objects

Sufficient clearance helps provide good ventilation and reduces the risk of heat affecting surrounding materials.

Where should I put the door or the handle while it is still hot?

The removable door and the handle become very hot during use.

Once the door has been removed, it can be placed:

  • On top of the oven

  • On a heat-resistant surface

Always take care when handling the door after use, and do not leave it on surfaces that are sensitive to heat.

How big is the pizza peel supplied?

The pizza peel supplied has the following dimensions:

  • Diameter: approximately 30 cm

  • Handle: approximately 20 cm long

The pizza peel is designed to make it easier to move the pizza in and out of the oven.

It sounds like a fan starts even though the oven is switched off

It is normal for a fan to start even when the oven is not actively in use.

CRUST is fitted with a protection system called PDS (Protective Device System). The system helps protect the electronic components against moisture.

When the oven is connected to the mains, the protection system may:

  • Start the fan for approximately 15 minutes every 18 hours.

  • Ventilate the electronics.

  • Reduce the risk of moisture-related damage.

In addition, the fan keeps running for approximately 15 minutes after use to help the oven cool down safely. If the oven is not used for longer periods, we recommend unplugging it from the wall socket.

Can the oven be stored upright?

Yes, the oven is designed so that it can be stored upright.

There are handles on the sides that make it easier to lift and move. On the back there are dedicated support surfaces that allow the oven to stand upright when stored.

Before you stand the oven on its end, you should:

  1. Allow the oven to cool completely.

  2. Remove the pizza stone.

  3. Make sure the oven is standing stably.

This can be a practical way to save space when the oven is not in use.

How do I look after the pizza stone?

The pizza stone is made to withstand high temperatures, but it is sensitive to rapid temperature changes and to knocks.

To extend its service life, we recommend that you:

  • Do not place frozen food directly on the stone.

  • Do not place a cold stone in an oven that is already hot.

  • Do not cool a hot stone with water.

  • Do not use the stone over an open flame.

  • Handle the stone gently and avoid dropping it.

Rapid temperature changes can create stresses in the material and lead to cracks.

How do I clean the pizza stone?

It is normal for the pizza stone to darken and become stained over time.

For cleaning we recommend:

  1. Let the stone cool completely.

  2. Scrape off burnt-on residue with a plastic or metal scraper.

  3. Brush away flour and loose residue with a dry washing-up brush.

  4. Wipe the stone gently with a slightly damp cloth if needed.

Avoid:

  • Cleaning agents.

  • Soaking.

  • The dishwasher.

  • Heavy use of water.

Always store the stone in a dry place to reduce the risk of moisture damage.

How do I clean the pizza oven?

Regular cleaning helps the oven work at its best and gives better baking results.

Follow these steps:

  1. Switch off the oven.

  2. Unplug it.

  3. Allow the oven to cool completely.

  4. Remove all loose accessories.

  5. Wipe the outside and the control panel with a slightly damp cloth.

  6. Rinse the pizza peel and the door with water.

  7. Dry all the parts before they are stored.

The base unit and the accessories must not be washed in a dishwasher.

Which settings should I use for frozen pizza?

If you are using a frozen pizza, we recommend that you use the preset programme Frozen.

For the best results:

  1. Take the pizza out of the freezer.

  2. Leave it on the worktop for 5–10 minutes.

  3. Then put the pizza into the oven.

  4. Select the "Frozen" programme.

This brief thawing helps reduce the temperature difference between the pizza and the hot stone, which reduces the risk of the stone cracking.

Where can I buy a new pizza stone?

If you need a new pizza stone, it can be ordered from Wilfa's website when it is in stock.

If the original stone is temporarily out of stock, a pizza stone of approximately 33 cm is also recommended as an alternative.

If you are unsure which spare part fits your model, we recommend that you contact Wilfa's customer service.

Which programmes does the pizza oven have?

CRUST is fitted with several preset programmes for different types of pizza and baking. The programmes are developed to simplify cooking by automatically adjusting the temperature and the cooking time.

See the product's instruction manual for a complete overview of all the programmes and their recommended uses.

How long is the warranty on the product?

The product is covered by a 5-year warranty for private use. Always keep your receipt as proof of warranty. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or faults caused by incorrect use. In the event of a complaint or warranty claim, please contact your place of purchase.
