When should I use the standard nozzle and when should I use the tall nozzle?
The choice of nozzle affects how the mist is distributed in the room and where the humidifier can be placed.
Standard nozzle
The standard nozzle works best when the humidifier is placed higher up from the floor.
We recommend that you:
Place the humidifier on a stool, shelf or similar.
Make sure the unit stands about 1 metre above the floor.
Check that the mist can spread freely in the room.
This position reduces the risk of moisture collecting on floors, windows or other nearby surfaces.
Tall nozzle
The tall nozzle is designed for placement directly on the floor or at a lower level.
Advantages of the tall nozzle:
The mist is directed higher up into the room.
The moisture spreads more easily with the room's ventilation.
The risk of condensation around the unit is reduced.
The humidifier can be placed directly on the floor.
How well the mist spreads is always affected by the room's ventilation and size, and by where the unit is placed.
Can I connect Nimbus to the Wilfa app?
Nimbus HU-500B has no app connection.
This model is not integrated with any app and therefore cannot be controlled or monitored from a mobile phone. All settings are made directly on the humidifier.
It gets wet around the humidifier
If it gets wet around the humidifier, more moisture is usually being produced than can spread into the room.
Nimbus has a high mist output of up to 650 ml per hour and is designed to raise the humidity quickly in larger rooms.
If you notice moisture forming on floors or other surfaces, we recommend that you:
Lower the mist level to level 1 or 2.
Move the unit to another place in the room.
Make sure the ventilation is working as it should.
Direct the mist outlet away from walls, windows and furniture.
The spread of the mist is greatly affected by the room's ventilation, the air circulation and where the humidifier is placed.
There is water left in the bottom when I remove the water tank
It is normal for water to remain in the bottom of the humidifier when you lift off the water tank.
Nimbus is an ultrasonic humidifier. An ultrasonic humidifier uses vibrations to turn water into a fine mist.
On the underside of the water tank there is a valve that releases water down into the base unit. The mist itself is produced in the base unit.
It is therefore normal that:
There is water left in the base unit.
Water remains in the lower part after use.
A small amount of water is visible even when the tank is empty.
This is part of the product's normal function and does not mean that anything is wrong.
The humidifier sometimes stops producing mist
If the humidifier temporarily stops producing mist, this does not necessarily mean that it is faulty.
Nimbus has a preset mode called Comfort. The Comfort mode works as an automatic operating mode in which the humidifier adjusts its output to maintain an even humidity level.
When the Comfort mode is used, the humidifier may:
Start and stop automatically.
Produce mist intermittently.
Be quiet during certain parts of operation.
If the humidifier stops producing mist for short periods, we recommend that you first check which operating mode is selected.
How do I clean my Nimbus humidifier?
Regular cleaning helps the humidifier to work at its best and reduces the risk of limescale deposits and bacterial growth.
Follow these steps:
Switch off the humidifier and unplug it.
Empty all the water out of the unit.
Clean the base unit with clean water.
If there is limescale, add vinegar or a descaler as needed.
Use a soft brush or a toothbrush to gently loosen deposits.
Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Dry all parts before they are used again.
Clean the water tank as well if needed.
For the best hygiene, we recommend that you:
Never leave water standing for several days.
Change the water regularly.
Empty and dry the base unit often.
Use fresh water when refilling.
For the best performance, we also recommend changing the water at least every three days.
Why is the desired humidity level not reached?
If the desired humidity level is not reached, this may be due to how the humidity is measured or to the conditions in the room.
The humidifier measures the humidity close to the unit itself. To get a fairer picture of the humidity in the room, we recommend using an external hygrometer.
A hygrometer is a measuring instrument that shows the humidity of the air.
For the best control:
Place an external hygrometer 3–5 metres from the humidifier.
Monitor the humidity over several days.
Make sure the ventilation is not carrying the moisture away too quickly.
Please note that:
Furniture, plants, walls and textiles absorb moisture.
It can take 5–10 days before the whole room reaches a stable humidity level.
Strong ventilation can affect the result.
Why should I use a humidifier?
A humidifier helps create a more comfortable indoor humidity level, especially during the cold season.
When cold outdoor air is warmed up indoors, it often contains very little moisture, which can lead to dry indoor air.
A balanced humidity level can contribute to:
Softer skin.
Less dry lips.
Less irritation in the eyes and airways.
A better sleeping environment.
More comfortable breathing.
Better conditions for plants.
A reduced risk of wooden furniture and parquet floors drying out.
An indoor environment that feels warmer and more comfortable.
